This certificate brought along by David Sanderson was set ot his Mother during the 2nd World War. During the war David's family took in refugees from Leeds, 2 boys, Donald and Sidney. They stayed with the Sanderson family for 2 years and they stayed in touch for many years afterwards.
This certificate was sent to Mrs Irene Sanderson by Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) in recognition of the sacrifice they made for others in taking the boys in and giving them a home.
