What We are Scientists and Chris Moyles have in common...
- 31 Jan 08, 12:03 PM
So Chris from We Are Scientists told us his hidden skill was to 'squeeze a tube of toothpaste in such a way that all of its contents come out in a nice continuous stream. No pausing on my part, no breaks in the minty excrement -- indeed, no thinning at all in that peppermint pipeline. You'll be immediately surprised if you try it by how poorly you do. It involves dexterity, patience, and guts'...
So we put Chris Moyles to the test...see if he could compete with their skill! So how did he do? Watch here...

We love We are Scientists...
- 29 Jan 08, 11:56 AM
So...We Are Scientists are this weeks pet sound...with the brilliant track 'After Hours'.
We always ask our pet sound artist a few questions....but these have to be the best answers we have had back, so we just had to stick them up here!
Keep checking back in the week to see more answers...
So it was Chris from the band that answered these...
Have you had your heart broken? Who was s/he and have you forgiven him/her?
I had my heart broken once, sure. It's a story as old as civilization: I loved her, was blind to her flaws, trusted her implicitly; she robbed my apartment and pawned my stuff to buy a car that she and some other guy drove off to god knows where, running over my father on the way out of town, taking with her my passport and credit cards and birth certificate which she sold to a criminal; I subsequently spent time in jail for what this criminal did under the guise of my identity. Hard time -- I lost a kidney. Eight years before my attorney got me out. Family all dead by then. Everybody I knew had moved away. No jobs to be had. Then the lean years: near-starvation, living on the streets, no human affection to speak of. And yes, I have forgiven her. I learned a ton.

Dressing up Boosh!
- 28 Jan 08, 09:49 AM
Here's what The Mighty Boosh and I got upto this weekend….I promise you that no pain is caused to the dog you've just dressed up - just enormous humiliation and indignity…
At no point did Boosh stand still and pose for these photos - he just couldn't wait to get his teeth in the little jousting knight and the verdict seemed to be that the knight was far tastier than the cowboy….am on the lookout for more dressing up outfits so feel free to let us know !
Check out some photos that you guys have sent us...

2008...Ones to watch
- 15 Jan 08, 03:15 PM
Okay, here you go - my ones to watch for 2008.
*FOR MOVIE BUFFS*
*Star Wars: The Force Unleashed* (Multi) - Spring/Summer
Yes, it's another Star Wars game, but this is one to get seriously excited about. Now the films are finished, George Lucas and co. are pouring their creative energies into new projects like this. Set between Episodes III and IV, you become Vader's new apprentice, exploring the incredible power of the dark side. And yes, the Wii version comes with full lightsaber controls we've been gagging for!
*FOR ACTION-SEEKERS*
*Metal Gear Solid 4* (PS3) - Late Spring/Summer
Not suitable for children
We've been waiting ages for what we're told is Solid Snake's final mission. The stealth-action series has been one of the all-time greats, and this PlayStation 3 exclusive promises to be one of 2008's must-have games.
*Grand Theft Auto IV* (PS3, 360) - March/April
Not suitable for children
With the game suppose to have released last autumn, it's been acruel wait for GTA fans. But the wait is almost over. Set in the stunningly detailed Liberty City - based on the real-world Big Apple. The hype is off the scale - can the game live up to expectations?
*FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT*
*WiiFit *(Wii) - Spring
Nintendo's next great idea: the Balance Board. It's a plastic square you stand on, which measures your weight and balance with great precision. Already a massive hit in Japan, this could be a big hit with casual gamers over here, and those looking to keep in shape.
*FOR KIDS (BIG AND SMALL*
*Super Smash Bros. Brawl* (Wii) - Spring
A manic, eye-popping cartoon fighting game featuring characters from across the pantheon of gaming greats, including Mario, Sonic, Solid Snake, Kirby, Donkey Kong and many more. The biggest playground scrap
in gaming this year.
*FOR PETROL HEADS*
*Gran Turismo 5* (PS3) - Winter (Prologue out this Spring)
For many car lovers, the GT series is peerless. GT5 promises to take video game racing to new levels of detail and realism when it hits latest this year. Before then, UK gamers will be able to take it for a spin in the Prologue version this Spring.
*AND FOR THE ULTIMATE PARTY*
*Rock Band* (Xbox 360, PS3) - Spring
If you love Guitar Hero, Rock Band might just change your life. Lead guitar, bass, drums and vocals all in the same package, as you and friends jam along to some of greatest anthems in history. It won't be cheap, but it's the closest you can get to being in a band without learning to play the instruments yourself!

McFly the gerbils...
- 15 Jan 08, 09:13 AM
From left to right - Nibbles, Toffee, Buster and Smokey!
We have had a report from Kev our brilliant engineers that all boys are doing well (although they still suspect Smokey might be a girl...time will tell!!)

Jo shows off her new party trick
- 14 Jan 08, 01:50 PM
As I've proved at Radio 1's Big Weekend, , so I've tried to squeeze 20 crisps-that-come-in-a-tube (others are available) into my mouth - and I failed! Still talentless. Pretty good impression of a duck though. Does that count?!
(We do not recommend that you try to do this!)

The Wombats in the Live Lounge
- 9 Jan 08, 05:26 PM
Hello!! We're back from our break and the Live Lounge is once again open for business. Today was the turn of The Wombats who brought their Seven Song Shuffle and Postman Pat-sung-in-Nordic skills with them.
They performed Take That's 'Patience' and their single 'Moving to New York'. You can listen again here to the hilarity and the hits - or you can have a look at the film I made of what the Live Lounge looks like behind the scenes with a band in it - very squished!

Ha ha ha! Boom Boom!
- 8 Jan 08, 10:21 AM
So you're offered the chance to interview Basil Brush - it would be stupid to turn it down, no? Never like to break the mystique of these puppet things - but I will say seeing where Basil "sleeps" was a bit odd. He doesn't mind being stroked though - unlike Miss Piggy. Ah, another day down in the life of a showbiz reporter...
