Hamilton District Youth Theatre from Lanarkshire and Glasgow Acting Academy from Glasgow are two of the ten youth theatre groups that have been selected from across the UK to perform at the National Theatre's Connections Summer Festival this week. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Connections is the National Theatre鈥檚 annual nationwide youth theatre summer festival that champions the talent of young people across the UK and it鈥檚 on in London until Saturday. Len speaks to the director of Glasgow Acting Academy, Maddie Grieve, and one of their cast members, Ivy Lee-Barron. They're joined by Kirsten Adam, head of Young People鈥檚 Programme at the National Theatre.

Acclaimed artist and filmmaker, New York-born and Glasgow-based Margaret Salmon, talks about her new exhibition, which is opening at the Hunterian in Glasgow on Friday. Assembly has grown out of collaboration with the residents of the Kelvinside and Maryhill districts of the city, and it asks the question: how have years of austerity and a global pandemic affected individuals and the sense of community in Glasgow?
