Arctic sea ice reaches near record low
New research shows that Arctic sea ice has this month shrunk to the second lowest level on record. The National Snow and Ice Data Center said data shows a dip below four million square kilometres. A heat wave in Siberia caused an especially fast thaw. Dr Twila Moon is a researcher at the Center in Boulder, Colorado.
