Crippled Monkey's esteemed blogging colleague tracked down an extraordinary story from Denver, Colorado. It seems that over there, an investigation by a local TV station has discovered that many of the disabled parking spaces located outside local homes are in fact assigned to people who have . Decased. Dead. Thus, they no longer need the parking spaces (well, obviously) but their relatives have somehow 'forgotten' to declare the family member's, er, no-longer-living status.
Well, that's one way to secure yourself a disabled parking bay for eternity, I guess.
