Jemma says she has been inspired to "properly blog" by the Ouch bloggers. She says, "If they can do it, so can I". And she's not kidding: this girl really can blog. Check out her about being asked to remove her hat in pubs.
I am thrilled to bits that I've been part of a team of writers who have helped to bring forth a new disabled blogger. I couldn't be more pleased.
But is Jemma* the only one? Or are there more of you out there? If you're disabled, and you've started a blog up as a direct result of reading the work of the Ouch guest bloggers, Crippled Monkey wants to hear from you. Drop him a line at ouch@bbc.co.uk.

Anyone can blog. I do it, often badly, and really recommend it as a great way to get to know other people in more depth than on messageboards or MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and all the other things I won't go near. Fast pace 'really out there' interaction scares me stupid. Blogging, for me, is more gentle and you can take your time.

Being of an agoraphobic persuasion, and well, frankly, not getting out much, I never thought that I'd have anything noteworthy to blog about; it's only recently that it's occurred to me that actually, yes, maybe I just might have something to say, that my experiences may be interesting and/or useful to others. Seeing so many folks doing it here has inspired me to put pen to paper, or more accurately, font to screen. It's also given me something to focus on during what appears to be an irritatingly bad downturn.
At the time of writing, I'm just starting out, with a mere three or four posts to my name. There are days when my mind doesn't seem to be working well enough to write anything coherant (and today seems to be one of them, judging by the mishmash that is this response!) but I hope it'll snowball and turn into something at least vaguely interesting for people to read.
