Following actor Dennis Waterman's controversial comments about acts of violence against his ex-wife, Kaye asks: how do we stamp out domestic violence here in Scotland?
This week the actor Dennis Waterman has been quoted from an upcoming TV interview about acts of violence against his ex-wife Rula Lenska. He admits that he did slap her on more than one occasion, and punched her another time. But he claimed "it's not difficult for a woman to make a man hit her".
Scotland continues to record an unenviable record on domestic violence - figures released just this week report that nearly 7,000 children were witness to acts of domestic violence over the festive period alone.
So, Kaye asks...what can be done to end domestic violence? Is it all about early years education? Do we need to do more to work with the perpetrators of domestic violence? And do we all need to help stamp out inappropriate attitudes, language and behaviour?
