'Robert Peston: 'Google removed my post'
The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ economics editor Robert Peston says the decision to remove one of his blogs by Google to comply with European Law is a "constraint on freedom of the press."
Robert was yesterday advised by Google that an old blog post about the US investment Bank Merrell Lynch would be removed because of a recent European court ruling known as the right to be forgotten. The court says search engines must take down information deemed to be no longer "relevant". Other major websites such as the MailOnline and the Guardian were yesterday also advised about which stories would be removed from Google's UK and other European sites.
