Mike Azzie, a close friend who Pistorius used to call Uncle Mike, has "never seen" an aggressive side to the athlete as he was "so full of love".

His comments come after Pistorius was found guilty of the culpable homicide of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, but was cleared of murder charges by Judge Masipa.

Mr Azzie said he has spent more time with Pistorius than the people "passing silly comments" on him. However, he also admitted that Pistorius slept "with a gun under his pillow" because of his disability.
