A look behind the gates of a meat plant.
What goes on behind the gates of a meat plant can be a bit of a mystery – even to the farmers who frequent them. But a scheme in Northern Ireland is trying to take away some of that mystique – hoping to give farmers a better understanding of what the processor wants them to deliver to the factory gates.
Our Reporter Elaine Mitchell joined a group of farmers in County Tyrone as they walked the line to see exactly what happens from the moment they drop off an animal, until it leaves, as a piece of meat.
