Why Sir Keir Starmer will still struggle to win on immigration

Net migration to the UK is down by almost 50% according to new ONS figures. So can the prime minister succeed where other prime ministers have arguably failed?

Sir Keir Starmer's government, elected last year on a manifesto promising to reduce migration, has already announced an overhaul of visa rules. The latest provisional net migration figures show that 431,000 more people arrived in the UK than left in 2024 - down almost 50% on the figure of 860,000 from the previous year.

So can Sir Keir succeed where other prime ministers have arguably failed? The 成人快手's senior correspondent, Allan Little, takes a look.
