A year after winning a historic majority, 49 MPs voted against the government鈥檚 welfare reform bill despite changes that experts consider will wipe out 拢4.8bn of savings by the end of the decade. Ministers removed any changes to eligibility for the personal independence payment and announced a review by the disability minister Sir Stephen Timms.
