12-year-old Galit is just a year older than her grandfather Arek Hersh was when he was captured by the Nazis in 1941. Now, for the first time, Arek has told her the full, remarkable story of what happened to him during the holocaust. Arek was one of few Jewish children to survive the selection process at the infamous extermination camp at Auschwitz. He survived the war, but 81 members of his family were killed. Now in his 80s, he's built a new life in West Yorkshire, where 5 live's Dan Walker when to meet him and his family. This clip is from Afternoon Edition on 27 January.
