What colour is 'The Dress'?

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Neuroscientist, Beau Lotto, said people are seeing colours that don鈥檛 actually exist on 'the dress', because our brains base perception of colour on "experience and history". His comments came after a worldwide online debate was sparked by the colour of a dress, which some people perceived as blue and black, and many thinking it was white and gold. Doctor Lotto said the white region of the dress looks blue to many people because it is "flanked by yellow" and "yellow causes us to see something that's quite grey, as bluish".
