Episode details

Available for over a year
Stanley and Sonja met through their local cycling club in 1959. The year before, he had competed in the Empire and Commonwealth Games finishing inside the games record for the 10 mile track. He used to train by riding 12 hours at a time - fuelled by cold tea and cold rice pudding - although no-one quite knows why. Sonja was less competitive, but took part in Sunday morning races in Jersey. They walked through a 'tunnel of wheels' at their wedding in 1963. They recognise that cycling brought them together, but do they still share the same passion?
