Usain Bolt proved the doubters wrong, beating the controversial American sprinter Justin Gatlin to 100 metres gold at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing. Questions over Bolt's form were erased, as he took the title in 9.79 seconds just one hundredth of a second ahead of Gatlin.
