The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ has learnt that the number of paid library staff employed by councils in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland has almost HALVED in the last 6 years. There are currently 241 employed across the area, compared to 559 in 2010. In Leicestershire, there's been a large increase in the number of volunteers - as dozens of smaller libraries have been handed over to the local community. ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Leicester's Giles Taylor has been to Anstey library, which was taken over by local residents in October last year.
