A remembrance service has been held at Westminster Abbey for Sir Terry Wogan to commemorate 50 years since his first broadcast on the ���˿���. The veteran Irish broadcaster died in January this year after a short illness. Chris Evans, Joanna Lumley, and Simon Mayo are amongst those paying tribute at the thanksgiving service today. Radio 2’s Simon Mayo told 5 Live Breakfast that “people thought of him as a friend”. “People who listen to radio like the friend behind the microphone and nobody did that better than Terry,” he added.
