Long Interview: Anthony Seaton

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

The last relics of Scotland's once-dominant coal industry are disappearing: the mines are closed, the import terminals power stations in the process of being demolished. Coal and the industrial revolution it spawned, brought prosperity and growth. It also led to pollution and disease and is blamed, along with other fossil fuels, for climate change. Bill Whiteford speaks to Professor Anthony Seaton, about his new book, Farewell King Coal, which brings together the threads of its history and decline.
