The head of the World Health Organisation, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, says it's coordinating support for Guinea where an Ebola epidemic has been declared after a number of people died. Access to vaccines and treatments is being organised. Between 2013 and 2016 more than 11,000 people died in the West Africa Ebola epidemic, which began in Guinea. We found out more information about this latest outbreak from Helen Branswell, who covers Ebola research and epidemics for STAT News, a news website specialising in health and medicine. She says tests are currently underway to find out which strain of Ebola this is - and if one of the current vaccines could work to prevent its spread.
