New Zealand launches climate adaptation plan

Newshour

Available for over a year

New Zealand has launched a six-year national adaptation plan with a view to preparing for floods, fires, rising seas, and all that it expects to be unleashed by the climate crisis in the coming years. Reducing emissions will still be a priority, but now, so is preparing for a likely scenario of disruption caused by extreme weather conditions. Climate Minister, James Shaw, who unveiled the plan, told Newshour's Razia Iqbal why the plan, which he described as coming "late, but not too late", was necessary.
