'Miracle' patient walks again

Available for over a year

Sylvia Cameron was left completely bed bound and and unable to move or care for herself. Doctors at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, where she was treated, say her recovery is 'inspirational'. The 79-year-old was diagnosed with paraplegic lymphoma after cancer had affected her spine, leading to paralysis of her legs and lower body. Consultant Haematologist Dr Salim Shafeek put Sylvia on a strong course of chemotherapy treatment to shrink the tumours on her spinal cord: Sylvia surprised everyone by being able to walk again. She tells Elliott Webb how her recovery has gone from being bed bound to walking around once again. Image credit: Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust
