In a heat chamber once used to train rescuers, Caroline Hawley learns how the Coal Mines Act of 1911 made mine rescue stations compulsory, leading to countless lives being saved. At Wrexham Miners Project, she speaks to former miners Alan, Idwal and Keith to hear about life underground and how they looked after their beloved canaries.

Across the border, two teams search for bargains at an antiques centre in Leominster. Friends Emily and Sophie, in red, are after anything colourful and bright, while the blues, pals Llywelyn and Ollie, reckon they’re going to reel in a profit.
